i was reading one post that said that the color scheme/theme should be based off the venue- but i guess that's kinda hard bc right now we don't have a church yet, and i have no idea what color theme should be reflected off our reception hall (classic? formal? match w/ the deep purple curtains?) other consideration is because it's spring, maybe picking a flirtier, lighter color palette (contrary to my beloved k-town get-down black on black)
color considerations:
- midnight blue + gold
- pale grey + pale pink (similar but not quite)
- steel/charcoal grey + pale pink
- ivory + gold + black (or here)
- all ivory (w/ hints of pink or gold)
theme ideas:
- a play off of "just friends"- since that's what john + i always were (even though we all knew he secretly loved me all that time) :D
- since we're going to have a photo booth, maybe a picture/photo theme (have vintage photos up/pics from our parents weddings, etc) and/or incorporate "vintage" theme
- no theme
i like this picture: jumping for joy!

UPDATE: here are the final color schemes for everyone to vote on.
thanks for everyone's initial feedback- hopefully once we lock down the color everything else will fall into place! also really liking the vintage theme- here's some inspiration (thanks jane).
1) midnight blue + champagne/gold
2) pale yellow + grey
3) pale yellow + black + white
4) pale pink (or as martha likes to call it- cameo pink) + black
5) pale pink + grey

hannah! hope planning's going ok.
as far as color schemes go, i like the grey and pink idea..and also the ivory, black and white.
also..not to confuse you any more but there's this wedding i saw awhile ago that totally inspired me! if i saw this before i got married, i think i would have gone with something as modern and unique as this. check out the link!

shoot...the link isn't coming up. ill email it to you. let me know what you think!
i vote for:
-midnight blue + ivory + one accent color
-steel grey (but this could look washed out if not done right with the right tone of grey and pink combo)
ooh i like the pale yellow + grey, and the pink + grey! i love vintage!!
one thing to note is that the gray will look more casual overall than the midnight blue. midnight blue will be very cool sleek and classy. gray can pull that off too, but it will have to be a darker sexier grey rather than a light one.
ok here is a proposal
will u marry me.
haha ok im not funny.
ok so i think the
dk blue + light gold: very classy
grey + soft rosey pink: very cute/vintage
if you want to go for the vintage theme, then i definitely say the grey combo but if u want it to be strictly classy looking, then i say dk blue. :)
im really liking the pale yellow and grey combo. it's so fresh and modern and something i haven't seen before! love it!!
